Terms of Service (TOS)

Note: These terms are still being formulated. What you see here is not final. The existing users didn't sign up under these terms, and because of that, these terms are only a guideline. We can't expect users to adhere to them until we've actually told each individual about them and received a confirmation back from each. But you can expect us to adhere to them, because we are being serious about this.

Words

On this page, the words "we", "us", etc. refer to the users listed in TWikiAdminGroup. Similarly, the word "users" refers to the registered users of this website, while "visitors" are people without a login who browse the website. A "contribution" is any information that you submit to this website in any form (mainly text and/or files).

There are lots of TOS out there that we could use as inspiration, one of them is http://www.blogspot.com/tos.pyra (just as an example among millions of others).

Rules

As a rule, whatever our TOS end up saying, you can trust that we will not claim ownership of anything that's yours, and we will never violate your rights.

1. Normal etiquette applies! Behave yourself, and you will be treated well. The consequences of misbehaving are similar to those in the real world...
2. We can not claim ownership of your contributions.
3. You can not claim ownership of other users' contributions.
4. You grant the users shared rights of use to your contributions under the WebsiteLicense. I feel that the CreativeCommons? license is better suited to this website than the GNU FDL. If you feel differently, please add your comments to the PolicyFeedback section. [Main.TorbenGB 27 Jul 2004]
5. You grant us the right to edit and/or remove your contributions as necessary for purposes of performance, maintenance and recovery of this website, and to address violations of these terms.
6. You grant users the right to edit and/or remove your contributions for purposes of refactoring, as long as the key points and attributions are kept. You accept to follow the same rule when you edit this website.
7. If you sign up for any AnnouncementLists or DiscussionLists on g-b.dk, you agree to the terms provided in our service provider's policy about subscriptions and mailings to mailing lists. In essence, we promise to do all we can to protect you from spam.
8. Contributions may not be unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy or copyright, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. Since anybody can contribute freely, we will not be held responsible or liable for any such contributions, but we will remove any that we see or are informed of.
9. We will not be held legally, financially, or otherwise responsible in any way for any harm or damage done through or by this website to any user of or visitor to this website or any third party. We will make a reasonable effort to avoid that such circumstances arise or continue.
10. We will always be available to answer your questions about this policy within a reasonable period of time. Expect a response time anywhere from immediate to a few days; please remember that we are not an organization.
