- My rather fine Pioneer HDR is showing its age, supporting only the 4:3 format and having problems since the change to digital.
- I'd like to be able to simultaneously record two shows and watch one of them or something else.
- A modern tv guide would be real nice.
- Hardware:

- Case: SilverStone Grandia GD01 (review)
- OS: MythTV
- Note: Low-power CPUs should be adequate (but while keeping temps low is nice, it might also shorten the overall useful life span).
- Tuner:
- Must be Mpeg4 (Mpeg2 will be shut down in 2012)
- (list of mpeg4-capable pci cards)
- Storage: Ideally just the mythtv system; media storage should be on klaymen via nfs. Media consumes about 2-7Gb/hr.

- I'll need local storage if nfs does not work with mythtv (unlikely), or the network speed is inadequate (likely for HD content and g-or-less wifi).
- Different quality options are supported.
